Teen suffers non-life threatening injuries after shark bite at North Carolina beach

A teen in North Carolina on Saturday suffered non-life threatening injuries after being bitten by a shark, authorities said.

Atlantic Beach Police Chief Jeff Harvey told WNCN-TV that the 18-year-old teen was bitten on hands and wrist by a three-foot shark in three-foot deep water at around 2:30 p.m.

Fire Chief Adam Snyder added that the man was holidaying and was attacked by the shark when he was swimming.

The beach was not closed after the incident and the teen was transported to Carteret General Hospital.
