Boise police are searching for man who allegedly struck a Boise police patrol car during a pursuit Wednesday afternoon.

Police are searching for Jeremiah James Newell and the truck which was forcefully stolen by him.

Police spokeswoman Haley Williams said that officers tried to stop a person of interest near Chinden Boulevard and Coffey Street on Wednesday.

They attempted to stop him using a pit maneuver on his vehicle, but the suspect escaped.

The man however hit an unmarked police car and another vehicle while fleeing the scene. He then abandoned his vehicle and forcefully stole a pickup from another person at knife-point.

The pickup is a 2001 silver Chevrolet Silverado extended cab with license plate 1A9587G.
