Police on Tuesday arrested the suspect in the the stabbing of a man in Nampa on Memorial Day.

Nampa Police said that 44-year-old Raymond "Sean" Strickland of Nampa was in Meridian at round noon and was arrested without incident near the intersection of East Central Drive and Main Street.

He was arrested by members of the Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force and the Ada County ACTION Team.

The stabbing was reported around 7:55 p.m. at a home in the 900 block of Chicago Street. According to witnesses, the stabbing victim - a 45-year-old man - was lying in the street when first responders arrived.

He was admitted to a local hospital. Police are yet to reveal the identity of the victim, who was still in a hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The police have booked Strickland on a charge of aggravated battery.

"The Nampa Police Department would like to thank our local law enforcement partners for their assistance in the speedy apprehension of the suspect in this case. Especially the GIFT and Ada County ACTION teams," said Nampa Det. Sgt. Don Peck.
