BET Awards 2016: Jennifer Hudson, Sheila E, Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monae and more honor Prince

Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monae, the Roots, and Sheila E. all came together for multiple musical medleys, which ran throughout the night. The medleys highlighted hits from the Purple One's legendary career.

Erykah Badu delivered the first tribute of the evening, performing a sultry version of "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" and the Roots served funky back up duty. She looked stunning in a floor-length white faux-fur coat and leather pants, topped off with a black beret.

Singer Bilal performed "The Beautiful Ones" from Prince's immortal Purple Rain. The 36-year-old soul maestro came in a sleeveless shirt.

The most-awaited performance of the night was easily Stevie Wonder's, and he teamed with Tori Kelly for "Take Me with U" ? originally performed by Prince and his pop protege, Apollonia, in 1984.
