4th of July celebrated in Boise with Liberty Day Parade

On Monday morning, people gathered in large numbers along the streets in downtown Boise for the annual Fourth of July Liberty Day Parade. The parade almost didn't happen this year.

Parade organizers were short on funds - about $4,000 short - a few months ago.

But some last-minute community donations helped make the parade happen as scheduled.

As many as 60 floats took part in Monday's parade.

Event spokesperson Jacob Barrett expressed confidence in the future of the event.

"Once we were able to raise the awareness to where we were at, the community really responded and we know we have the momentum for going forward," he said.

The theme of this year's parade celebrated industry and service honoring Idahoans that work and give back to the community.
